Systemic Racism and unconscious bias continue to be very divisive and polarizing issues in workplaces. As we prepare for this summit I have clients who are terrified to sound the alarm on the racist comments, gestures and dismissive attitudes they encounter at work. This has resulted in repressed anger, depression, obesity, and the early onset of other chronic diseases for Blacks and other visible minority employees, contributing to unhealthy work experiences, this is another viewpoint that connects with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Why Black Lives Matter – The Strategic Imperative from Diversity to Inclusion

Alex Ihama

Due to the racial revolution of our time, the topic of systemic racism has made its way to the top of the agendas of organizations and governments around the world. As a result, people and organizations need to identify and deal with the unconscious biases that are hindering diversity, inclusion, and equity in business, churches, schools, associations, all arms of government.

Since 1999, Alex has been working with reputable organizations like the Bank of Montreal, Moneris Solutions, CIBC, Canada Basketball, the City of Toronto, the City of Markham, Region of Peel, and even arms of the United Nations to share and develop strategic and sustainable solutions to eliminate systemic racism, maximize diversity and build equitable and inclusive corporate cultures.

  • Alex will be sharing an uncommon perspective of Why Black Lives Matter and the Strategic Imperative from Diversity to Inclusion.
